Back pain is one of the most common causes of disability worldwide, with eight in 10 people reporting the problem at some point in their lives according to the American College of Physicians.

Causes of Back Pain

Back pain can be caused by an injury, repetitive motions, or long periods of sitting and can lead to chronic back pain associated with muscle tightness, spasms, and disk degeneration. Muscle tightness and spasms are caused when the body becomes misaligned, and the back becomes compressed and rotated. This compression can lock up the disks of your spine that would normally have space to shift and distribute load, while the tightness narrows and impinges the nerve pathways and can cause radiating pain due to changes in the nerve environment.

Spine or Back Pain

Osteopathy takes a full body view of the problem by allowing the muscles of the spine to relax and regain their proper length. The hips and ribcage become realigned with the spine, the spine decompresses, and range of motion is restored to the body.

Accidents or Injuries Treatment Clinic

Falls and car accidents can cause a stress response to the ribcage limiting your lung capacity and causing back pain. Osteopathy allows the ribcage to relax by allowing respiration to return to normal, allowing the respiratory diaphragm to move correctly, allowing the lower back to regain proper position, and providing relief of lower back pain.
