Whiplash is a common injury caused by the rapid and unrestrained back and forth movement of the head and neck, and usually occurs as a result of a motor vehicle incident. Symptoms of whiplash include pain, inflammation and a limited range of motion of the head and neck.
Osteopathy identifies and treats the inflammation and pain felt from a whiplash injury by focusing on the biomechanics of entire body, and eliminating compensation patterns which limit the movement of the head and neck. While whiplash injuries are most commonly felt in the head and neck, compensation patterns can also cause pain and tightness in the shoulders, ribcage and spine as the body attempts to protect the injured muscles. Most whiplash treatments will focus on those areas of the body experiencing pain, while Osteopathy looks at the entire body. After an Osteopathic treatment, the muscles of the entire body have been re-aligned, reducing muscle spasms, pain, and restoring a proper range of motion.
Headache Causes
Headaches can be caused by many things, including injury, stress, and weather changes.
Osteopathy offers a natural relief of headaches by bringing correct blood flow throughout the body and head, improving drainage out of the head, relieving the tension and pressure felt in the head and neck as headaches. After a Osteopathic treatment, the muscles of the head, neck, and jaw have been re-aligned, restoring a proper range of motion, and proper drainage.
